Deputy Public Defender

The position will serve as a Deputy Public Defender in the Sebastian County Public Defender's Office. Will be responsible for representing clients appointed to the office including criminal defendants in Circuit and District Court, Juvenile Court, and clients appointed in Adult Protective Service proceedings. The specific obligations and case assignment of this position will be determined based on the qualifications of the selected applicant. The position will provide effective legal representation to all clients including, but not limited to appearing in court, drafting pleadings, consulting with witnesses, and performing legal research.

Formal education equivalent to a law degree from an accredited law school.

Must be licensed to practice law and admitted to the Arkansas State Bar in accordance with Arkansas Code Annotated 6-22-201
